Paul Claes is a Belgian writer, poet, essay writer and translator. He studied classic languages, Dutch and English and communication sciences at the KULeuven. He taught at the universities of Leuven and Nijmegen and the institutes of higher education in Ghent and Antwerp. He has translated Sappho, Mallarmé, Ezra Pound, August von Platen, D.H. Lawrence and many more. Together with Mon Nys he also made an acclaimed translation of James Joyce’s Ulysses.
